When Substance and Significance Fail You, #LetsPiffle

Recently, I came across this great word: Piffle.Let's piffle #letspiffle, by Eduardo Suastegui Reminiscent of another cute little word, trifle, it seems to fit much of how and what we communicate these days. Whether on social media or when spending time with friends face to face, do we talk? About what matters? Sure, we need space for fun, to not treat everything with relentless seriousness. But can we share more than the superficial?

For fear of saying grumpy, negative things, I’ll leave you with the following attempt at silly poetry:

If you have nothing to say,
Yet feel the urge to convey
Something without weight or sway,
    Piffle.
If you want to draw attention,
If you must excel at pretension,
If you seek fame and mention,
   Piffle.
Piffle with your friends, piffle all day long,
Piffle at your enemies, piffle for the throng.
To say nothing at all, shouting loud and strong,
   Piffle!

Let’s piffle a little, yes piffle a trifle.
Our irrelevant banter, let no one stifle.
Yay, piffle and doodle our boredom away.
Piffle with gusto to waste one more day.

If that awful attempt at poetry made you really sick, might this be a good time to suggest you check out my stories? I promise I try to keep them fun without any of the piffle.
