Fleshing Out Our Cyber World Beginnings

Recently I released Semi (free & exclusive to my mail list subscribers) and finished the first draft for Feral. Together, these two stories will provide some nice detail into the events and characters that feed into DEAD BEEF. In particular, Feral focuses on the relationship between Sasha Javan and Martin Spencer (with Cynthia nudging her way in, of course), while Semi focuses on Julian Rogers, a colorful character in DEAD BEEF who will also feature prominently in Recombinant.

Of course, as soon as I finished Semi, I knew I had to write another Julian Rogers story, this time with networked drones that do nasty things, or Drone.NET, or Dronet, in Julian’s clever shorthand.

The following graphic shows these three new stories in order, ahead of DEAD BEEF (free this weekend!):

Wow, that’s a lot of stories and characters to keep straight. I figured it was time to update that Our Cyber World story map:

What do you think? Exciting times, yes? I haven’t decided how I will release Dronet. I might make it available to my mail list subscribers at first, and eventually bundle it with Feral‘s release. That almost sounds like a plan. Now, off to finish those stories!
