Fleeting Shadow and a #TrackingJane update

In case you haven’t gotten word via my social media posts, I have recently completed a short[er] story in the Tracking Jane series that I will make exclusively available as a free download to my mail list subscribers. That’s right. You can only get it when you subscribe. I know, mean, huh?

Fleeting Shadow, short story cover by Eduardo SuasteguiChanging the subject… a little… Fleeting Shadow will cover details of what transpired between episodes 2 and 3 (Rover and Tahoe-1). It’s a tad longer than a short story, and since I hate to call it a “novelette,” I am thinking of it as an “interlude.” As an interlude, it will come as a quieter in-between movement (for symphony fans out there), but one which should reveal some interesting aspects of Jane’s struggle, especially when it comes to Shadow’s frailties. In addition we get to meet one of Jane’s war buddies, Joseph (Joe) Brenner. He will play a prominent role in the next episode in the series.

Speaking of which…

As for the rest of the Tracking Jane series, in case you missed it over the busy holiday season, episode 4, Brownie came out and is now available on Kindle, iBooks, Nook, Kobo and Smashwords–along with all the predecessor episodes! I am working on episode 5, Blood Track, which is proving quite challenging to get right. I was hoping that writing Fleeting Shadow would loosen things up a bit. But it didn’t, so if you believe in the power of prayer, say a few on my behalf.

As I draw this post to a close, I want to thank all those of you who have been supporting this series by reading the episodes, posting reviews, and telling your friends. You are a great encouragement to me to keep going in this, one tough writing-publishing biz.
