#VOTMNews: A Tale of Two Stories Completed

Time for another #VOTMNews update: Over the last two to three weeks, I’ve completed two stories I’m excited about… Or was excited about when I finished them, only to get all that artistic self-doubt that comes over me after the initial euphoria wears off.

Quantum Law, and Virtual Identity, two cyberpunk techno-thrillers by Eduardo Suastegui

First up, Quantum Law reached full novel length with what I think came out as a pretty decent ending that may or may not set up a sequel. Final decision pending. As you may know, I released the first episode, Prime Decision, to my Reader’s Club. If you’re interested in getting a preview of your own, join up!

With Quantum Law I find myself at a quandary. I am currently contemplating whether to release the first two episodes before I release the full novel, or to simply go all out with the novel once it’s ready to roll. A secondary quandary? Do I pitch this to agents and see if it connects with a publisher willing to take it up, to maybe have it come out in another eighteen months? Those last two words always seem to provide all the answer I need, but a boy’s gotta dream and ask, right?

With the first draft of Quantum Law in the can, I thought I’d shift my attention once more to Recombinant, but a story idea “got in the way,” and I had to put it down on paper. Its name, Virtual Identity may hint at enough of what it is about. Part of the Our Cyber World series, it will feature a stronger Science Fiction element. A shorter story, more of a novella, its ending and some of the middle inner workings need a little more fleshing out.

What am I up to now, then? Though I’m itching to get going with Quantum Law, I will set it and Virtual Identity aside for a bit while I put some last minute touches on Feral ahead of its release. When will it come out? Most probably on October 6, though I may pull its release ahead by one week if everything lines up smoothly.
